We are developing a method for downscaling ward level Census data, and, in combination with other datasets, will analyse spatial inequalities across Bengaluru, especially related to water.
Pratyush Tripathy
Researcher
Pratyush's research focuses on image processing for spatial analysis, street network analysis, and relationship between socio-economic and physical structure of urban neighbourhoods
As part of his work with the PEAK Urban project at IIHS, he works on analysing urban spatial inequalities in Bengaluru through integrated analysis of census, remote sensing data and other spatial datasets.
He earned his Integrated M.Tech degree in Geoinformatics with a specialisation in urban applications. His dissertation focussed on deducing homogeneous urban patches by classifying urban area based on its physical structure such as street network, building height, vegetation and built proportion, and texture of remotely sensed data.
