We put forward a new theoretical framework to study the development of mega-city regions and metropolitan areas under the recent national strategy of new-type urbanisation and rural vitalisation.
Tao Liu
Tao Liu is Professor at the College of Urban and Environmental Sciences at Peking University. Professor Tao Liu received his PhD at the University of Hong Kong in 2016. He then worked as an assistant professor in Renmin University of China from 2016 to 2017.
He is a board member of Urban Geography Specialty and Population Geography Specialty at the Geographical Society of China (GSC).
His recent research interests are migration and urbanization in China, urban and regional planning, urban land development and spatial analysis and statistics and he has published more than 20 papers on these topics in English.
He is the principal investigator of “Repeat Migration in China and Its Urbanization Effects” funded by National Natural Science Foundation of China. He is the leader of the Internal Migration and Urbanization in China project in the PEAK Urban programme.
