Viola Fatima Lewis
Viola is a researcher with the Urban Informatics Lab at IIHS. Her interests and focus of work lie in the area of statistical modelling of urban economic activity drivers using quantitative and spatial analysis.
As part of the PEAK stream, ‘Mapping Bangalore’s Industrial Transformation’, she examines the relationship between industrial activity in Bangalore and economic status of urban zones based on spatial statistical methods. This work feeds into the larger goal of tracing the historical development of the urban agglomeration.
Previously, she has worked on large technology ecosystems and datasets as a software engineer in the financial services domain for multiple global leaders in financial services. Viola holds a graduate degree in Biomedical Engineering. In her free time, she focuses on expanding her self-taught skills in quantitative analysis and machine learning.
